Job Title: Teaching Assistant (1-1, Year 5 with Special Educational Needs)
Location: Sutton, Surrey, SM3
Pay: £89 a day
Hours: 8:00am- 4:30pm
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our professional team at a well-regarded primary school in Sutton, Surrey. This full-time role will focus on providing one-to-one support to a Year 5 pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping to facilitate their learning, social integration, and personal development.
Responsibilities:
• Delivering tailored educational support under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO to meet the individual needs of the pupil.
• Assisting in the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans.
• Providing emotional support and encouragement to help the pupil develop confidence and independence.
• Facilitating the child's engagement during lessons and promoting positive social interactions with peers.
• Monitoring and tracking the pupil’s academic and behavioural progress, reporting any concerns to the class teacher.
• Aiding in the development and adjustment of learning resources to suit individual learning styles.
• Collaborating with other teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to support the pupil’s educational journey.
Requirements:
• Experience in working with primary-aged children, specifically those with SEN.
• Relevant qualification at NVQ level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent.
• A calm, patient, and positive approach to children's learning and well-being.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding children's welfare.
• Enhanced DBS check.
