Job Title: Post Graduate Behaviour Support
Location: Cardiff, CF11 Start Date: September Start Hours: Full-time and Part-Time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday Salary: £89 per day Are you creative, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people who need a different approach to learning? If you’re experienced in working with children or teens with SEND, SEMH, ADHD, or behavioural challenges—or come from a background in youth work, the arts, or creative education—we have an exciting full-time opportunity in Cardiff that could be the perfect fit. This is a secondary school with a PRU-style approach, offering a highly nurturing environment for students who struggle in mainstream education. The setting has a strong forest school ethos, with learning often taking place outdoors, through practical, therapeutic and creative activities. About the Role: We’re looking for full-time Learning Support Assistants to work with pupils aged 11–16 on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them re-engage with education and feel safe, seen, and supported. The students often present with Autism (ASD), ADHD, MLD, SEMH, and complex needs. Some may have experience of school refusal, trauma, or social exclusion. We're also open to candidates from creative and alternative education backgrounds—such as those with degrees or experience in art, drama, performance, music, or outdoor learning—as well as youth workers and individuals skilled in working with challenging behaviour. Key Responsibilities: • Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups across core and creative subjects • Encouraging engagement, emotional regulation, and positive relationships • Participating in forest school sessions, outdoor learning, and enrichment activities • Helping manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently • Supporting learning through trauma-informed, inclusive approaches • Working closely with teachers, mentors, and therapists to support individualised plans Who We’re Looking For: • Someone with experience in SEND, SEMH, or youth work • Creative, adaptable and resilient – with the confidence to work in a dynamic setting • A strong communicator who can build meaningful relationships with teenagers • Comfortable working outdoors and supporting non-traditional learning styles • Art, Drama, Music or Outdoor Education graduates very welcome • Individuals aspiring to become teachers or therapeutic educators encouraged to apply What We Offer: • A full-time, term-time only role in a school that values creativity, compassion, and connection • A small, supportive team with excellent staff-to-student ratios • Daily opportunities to work outdoors through forest school and experiential learning • A chance to genuinely change the lives of young people who need the right support • An inclusive, forward-thinking school community in the heart of Cardiff We're also recruiting for a teacher!
