We are currently seeking a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant for a part-time role in a Key Stage 1 class at a primary school in Bridgwater. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with behavioural needs in a classroom setting.
About the Role:
Working as a general TA, you will be supporting the class teacher and pupils across the KS1 setting, with a particular focus on helping children who display challenging behaviour. The role involves providing calm, consistent support, helping pupils develop self-regulation skills and engage more effectively with learning.
This part-time position runs across five days per week, with a mix of half-day shifts and full day shifts, offering a balance of meaningful work and flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the class teacher with the delivery of lessons and daily routines.
• Work closely with pupils who require additional support due to behavioural needs.
• Assist with managing behaviour in a positive, supportive manner.
• Help maintain a calm and structured classroom environment.
• Support children during transitions, breaktimes, and learning activities.
• Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to follow individual support plans.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour, reporting concerns as needed.

• Experience supporting children with emotional or behavioural needs (desirable).
