Job Description:
Are you passionate about supporting students and helping them achieve their best? If you are an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a flexible part-time role, we have an excellent opportunity for you. We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support to a students in Wells.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on a 1:1 basis with a student, providing personalized support according to their educational needs.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the setup of the learning environment to meet the student's requirements.
- Foster a positive and motivating atmosphere that encourages the student to engage in learning activities.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor the student’s progress and to adapt strategies when necessary.
- Help the student to develop their social and communication skills, and provide emotional support when needed.
- Manage any behavioral or learning difficulties with patience, understanding, and effective techniques.
- Ensure the student’s safety and wellbeing at all times within the school environment.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to ensure up-to-date knowledge of educational practices and specific needs support.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar educational support role.
- Qualifications in Teaching Assistant studies, Education, or related field would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to children and adults.
- Understanding of safeguarding practices and commitment to child welfare.
- Ability to work independently and flexibly to meet the needs of the student.
- A patient, caring, and creative approach to supporting learners.
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
