Our agency is seeking a compassionate and patient Teaching Assistant with a focus on SEND support to join a supportive and nurturing school in Chard, Somerset. About the Role: As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide educational support and individual assistance to students with a range of special educational needs. Your role is vital in helping create an inclusive and accommodating learning environment where every child can succeed. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in the development and implementation of individual Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs). - Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they are engaged and able to access the curriculum. - Adapt teaching materials and methods to meet the needs of SEND pupils. - Facilitate the academic and social development of SEND pupils, encouraging independence and confidence. - Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents. - Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support the well-being of SEND pupils. - Manage challenging behaviour effectively, using appropriate strategies to promote positive behaviour.
