Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Glastonbury, Somerset Salary: £95 per day Contract Type: Full-time Working Hours: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our reputable agency, with deployment to a welcoming primary school located in the heart of Glastonbury, Somerset. This is an excellent full-time opportunity for an individual who is passionate about contributing to the education and well-being of children with special educational needs and disabilities. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the educational team to provide tailored support to a child with 1:1 needs. Your role will be pivotal in creating an inclusive and supportive environment that allows the child to thrive and achieve their personal best. Responsibilities: - Deliver personalized support under the guidance of teaching staff, focusing on the individual needs of a pupil with SEND. - Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans. - Encourage the child’s engagement in learning activities, whilst also promoting independence. - Use a variety of strategies to facilitate communication and learning. - Monitor and report on the pupil’s progress to teachers and parents. - Provide support with the social and emotional development of the child, helping them to build resilience and confidence. - Foster a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment. - Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and specialists to enhance the educational experience of the child. - Attend to the personal care needs of the pupil, if necessary. - Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of safeguarding guidelines and procedures, ensuring the welfare of the child is always prioritized.
