Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant

**About the Role:**
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you'll provide indispensable 1:1 support to a child, aiding their educational development and ensuring they can thrive within the school setting. This role requires your active involvement across all school classes, offering general support and tailored assistance to meet the unique needs of the child under your care.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Work closely with the individual pupil, providing 1:1 support that fosters independence, learning engagement, and social integration.
- Collaborate with the classroom teachers and the multi-disciplinary team to design and implement individual education plans (IEPs) that encourage pupils to reach their full potential.
- Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and adapting lessons to suit the child’s specific learning needs.
- Monitor and report on the child's progress, participating in reviews and contributing valuable insights to adapt strategies effectively.
- Establish a trusting, safe, and stimulating environment that supports the child's emotional well-being.
**Requirements:**
- Experience working with children with special needs, showcasing patience, understanding, and a genuine desire to improve their learning outcomes.
- An enhanced DBS check on the update service, reflecting your willingness and suitability to work with vulnerable children.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies.
- A proactive positivist attitude, ready to face challenges with creative problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of pupils and the school environment.
