Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm Pay: £89 per day Start: ASAP Do you thrive in environments where every day brings something new? An all-through special school in Tilehurst is looking for a caring, adaptable SEND Teaching Assistant who is ready to make a genuine impact on the lives of children and young people aged 4–19. The Role This vibrant school supports pupils with a broad spectrum of needs, and you’ll play a key part wherever you’re needed most—this could be in an early years classroom one day and working with post-16 learners the next. Your work will centre on helping students access learning, encouraging independence, and supporting their wellbeing. Some pupils will also require help with personal care. What You’ll Be Doing • Offering hands-on support across a range of ages and SEND needs • Assisting with toileting, feeding and personal care when required • Encouraging communication, emotional regulation and engagement • Working alongside teachers and specialist therapists to deliver personalised strategies • Helping create a warm, inclusive, safe space for learning • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils and their families About You We’re looking for someone who brings a mix of warmth, resilience and flexibility. You’ll ideally have experience supporting children or young people with SEND—whether in education, care, youth work or a similar setting. You should be comfortable with personal care and confident working as part of a team. A calm, patient approach and a commitment to safeguarding are essential. What You’ll Gain • A welcoming, collaborative staff community • A richly varied school environment where no two days are alike • Opportunities to grow your skills and make a meaningful difference If you’re motivated, adaptable and passionate about supporting learners with additional needs, we’d love to hear from you.
