Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant – Part Time
Axcis Education is seeking a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with SEMH needs and a background of trauma at a welcoming primary school in the Whitchurch area of South Bristol. This is a part-time, mornings-only role, starting in Term 6 (June).

About the Role
• Provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with SEMH and trauma-related needs
• Support the child during morning sessions (8:30am–12:30pm, Monday to Friday)
• Help the pupil regulate emotions, engage with learning and feel safe in the classroom
• Implement consistent routines, boundaries and behaviour strategies
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support
• Pay from £14.25 per hour

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience supporting children with SEMH, trauma or behavioural needs
• Is calm, patient and emotionally intelligent in their approach
• Can build a trusting and consistent relationship with the pupil
• Is resilient and confident managing challenging behaviour
• Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
