Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education are delighted to be working with a mainstream primary school in the Chorley area who are searching for a teaching assistant to join their team. This would be a position until the end of the academic year dependent on funding. This would be a full time position. The role would involve working closely with a year 1 autistic child with challenging behaviour. The pupil already has someone working 1-1 with them, but the school are looking to bring in extra support for the remainder of the academic year. To be considered for this role, you must have prior experience working with autism and not be in intimidated by instances of challenging behaviour. Knowledge of Team Teach or other behaviour de-escalation techniques would be looked upon favourably, though the school are willing to provide training in this area. The ideal candidate will be an experienced SEND teaching assistant who has worked with physically challenging autistic children in a special needs or mainstream environment. The position is in a mainstream primary school in Chorley with around 200 pupils. There is a small percentage of SEND requirements across the school. OFSTED rated the school 'outstanding' in its most recent inspection with particular praise given to the strength of the senior leadership team and the pride staff take in their work. There is large car park onsite for staff while there are good public transport links with Chorley train station a 20 minute walk away. As sponsors of the National Autistic Society and other notable SEND organisations, Axcis takes it duty of care to the profession seriously and we do our best to find only the best staff for the schools we work with. At Axcis, we value our teachers and support staff and the hard work they put in on a daily basis. This is why we always offer competitive rates of pay to ensure that their skills and experience are recognised INDLAN

If you are interested, then please click on the apply button and contact Sara Rodrigues on 01772 540 740 | Ext: 3025.

If you are not interested in this role but know someone else who might be, don't forget that we offer £50 in shopping vouchers if you refer a friend to us and we place them in the job. For more details, contact your local Axcis office.

This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer and as such we do not discriminate based on age, gender, disability, race or any other equal opportunities criteria.

The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

As such, you will be required to provide an up to date DBS, or be prepared to allow Axcis to process one on your behalf, in addition to other mandatory compliance checks in line with the DfE guidelines (for details please see our website).

Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.

You must be suitably qualified for the position advertised and be prepared to attend a face to face interview with Axcis to demonstrate your suitability for this role.

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.

View the disclaimer

Contact: Sara Rodrigues

Telephone: 01772 540 740 | Ext: 3025
