Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic staff team at a vibrant secondary school in London, SW18. The successful candidate will provide support to students with complex needs and behavioural difficulties, fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the delivery of tailored educational programs for students with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement individual behaviour plans and support strategies.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to encourage students' emotional and social development.
• Monitor and report on the progress of students, adapting support methods to meet their evolving needs.
• Uphold a safe and positive environment, managing challenging behaviour in accordance with school policies.
• Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to support the holistic wellbeing of students.
• Participate in training and development opportunities related to SEN and behaviour management.
Requirements
• Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN and behavioural issues.
• NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build rapport with students.
• Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
