Location: Sutton, London Working Pattern: Monday – Wednesday (Part-Time) About the Role A specialist further education setting based in Sutton, London is seeking a British Sign Language (BSL) qualified professional to join their team on a part-time basis, working Monday to Wednesday each week. This role involves supporting Deaf or hearing-impaired learners within a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will play a vital role in enabling students to fully access lessons, communicate effectively, and achieve their learning goals. Key Responsibilities • Provide BSL interpretation and communication support for students during lessons and college activities. • Support learners in understanding teaching materials and instructions. • Work closely with lecturers and support staff to ensure students have full access to learning. • Promote independence and confidence among learners. • Assist with communication between students, staff, and peers where required. • Maintain accurate records where necessary and contribute to student support planning. The Ideal Candidate Will Have • A recognised BSL qualification (Level 2 or above preferred). • Experience supporting Deaf or hearing-impaired learners in an educational or support setting. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • A patient, supportive, and adaptable approach. • The ability to work effectively as part of a wider support and teaching team.
