Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Axcis are pleased to be working with a fantastic mainstream secondary school in Taunton who are seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to support on a full-time basis. About the Role: The role of a Behaviour Mentor is pivotal in supporting students’ emotional, social, and behavioural development to enable them to succeed within the school environment. You will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral leads, and senior leadership to promote positive behaviour and reduce barriers to learning. This is a varied and rewarding role, and key responsibilities will include: • Supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4 to regulate their behaviour and engage positively in their learning. • Working one-to-one or in small groups to implement behaviour support strategies and restorative practices. • Supporting staff with behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques in the classroom. • Monitoring behaviour incidents and liaising with leadership to ensure interventions are appropriate and effective. • Supervising and managing after-school detentions until 4.30pm as part of the school’s behaviour management process. • Supporting break and lunch duties to maintain a calm and safe school environment. • Acting in accordance with the school’s safeguarding policy and referring any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
