Job Title: Autism School Support Worker
Location: Bath, Somerset Salary: £83.40 per day Contract Type: Full-time, with potential for permanent placement after an initial settling-in period Start Date: Immediate About the Role: Axcis Education is collaborating with a reputable primary school in Bath to recruit a dedicated Autism Support Worker. This role involves providing one-on-one support to students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) within a specialised resource base. The centre offers a curriculum tailored from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and National Curriculum, focusing on both academic and personal development in a holistic manner. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver tailored teaching activities on a one-to-one basis or with small groups, adapting to the individual needs of students with autism. • Assist in the development of students’ learning, provide care, and manage behaviour under the guidance of teaching staff and other professionals. • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students, fostering a positive and productive working relationship. • Support students in developing self-help skills and independence, including dressing, toileting, eating, and drinking. • Maintain accurate records of work with individual children and communicate with parents about their child’s activities. About You: The ideal candidate will have: • Experience working with children or adults diagnosed with autism. • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs. • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, staff, and parents. • The ability to adapt learning materials to meet the individual needs of students. • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs support (desirable but not essential).
