The School: Based in St Helens WA9 is a mainstream primary school with high levels of 1:1 support for children with ASD and on the pathway. The School has adapted the environment to meet the needs of its SEND pupils by adding “Sensory Areas” across the school such as a Calm Room and a Sensory Trail as well as incorporating “Adaptive Resources and Displays” within its classrooms. The School is to hire Two Teaching assistants to help with the KS1 and KS2 departments. The Job: You’ll be required to work in 1:1 settings with students in KS1 and KS2 with ASD. Using the schools “Adaptive Resources and Displays” you’ll help the students reduce the anxiety they can feel regarding routines. You’ll be expected to be patient and adaptable to each students needs as well as providing support to help them achieve their educational goals and needs.
