Position Type: Full-time (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm)
Pay: Starting from £13.86 per hour
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Smethwick this September.
This is a full-time, long-term role working closely with a pupil who has been identified with ADHD, ASD, and learning difficulties. You will play a vital part in supporting their educational journey and helping them engage positively with the curriculum and wider school life.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs
• Implement and monitor strategies outlined in the pupil’s Individual Education Plan (IEP)
• Promote social, emotional, and academic development through positive reinforcement
• Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment tailored to individual needs
Requirements:
• Previous experience working in a school setting is essential
• Proven experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ADHD and ASD
• A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to learning support
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A valid DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
