Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Nurture Room Lead Location: Harrow Salary: From £95 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications) Contract: Full-Time Start Date: Immediate or September Are you a resilient and experienced HLTA with a passion for supporting children with complex needs? We are seeking a dedicated professional to lead a specialist Nurture Room at a welcoming primary school in Harrow. About the Role: As the Nurture Room Lead, you will create and deliver a safe, structured, and therapeutic learning environment for six primary-aged pupils, each with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). These pupils are currently awaiting placement in specialist settings and are not accessing the mainstream curriculum—making the Nurture Room their main source of educational support. Working alongside two experienced Teaching Assistants, and in close partnership with the SENDCo, pastoral team, and external professionals, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both the academic and emotional development of these children. Key Responsibilities: Lead daily learning and therapeutic routines tailored to each child’s EHCP Build a nurturing, calm, and consistent classroom environment Promote communication, emotional regulation, and social development Implement trauma-informed and attachment-aware strategies to support behaviour Collaborate with staff and professionals to review and adapt individual learning plans What We’re Looking For: A qualified and/or experienced HLTA (or equivalent) Background working with children with SEND, SEMH, or complex needs Confident in leading small groups and managing challenging behaviour Emotionally resilient, patient, and committed to inclusive education Passionate about supporting vulnerable children and improving outcomes Committed to safeguarding and child welfare at all times We Offer: A supportive, inclusive, and forward-thinking leadership team Access to regular CPD and training in SEND and therapeutic practices A purpose-built, well-resourced nurture space A collaborative and caring school environment where every voice matters If you’re ready to make a lasting difference in the lives of children who need it most, we’d love to hear from you.
