Job Title: Music Teacher / HLTA – PMLD Students (Special School) Location: Greenford / Northolt, Ealing Start Date: September 2026 Start Duration: Ongoing Pay Rate: Competitive Working Hours: Part-time – Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (8:30am – 3:30pm) – flexible for the right candidate About the Role Axcis Education is seeking a passionate and creative Music Teacher or experienced HLTA to support pupils with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) at a well-regarded SEND school in Greenford / Northolt, Ealing. This is a part-time role starting in September 2026 delivering engaging and sensory-based music sessions for pupils across both primary and secondary age groups. The school is ideally looking for someone available Tuesday to Thursday, though the days can be flexible for the right candidate. Music plays an important role in supporting communication, engagement, sensory development, and emotional wellbeing for pupils with complex needs. Candidates with strong HLTA experience or Teaching experience experience working with PMLD students are encouraged to apply, even if you have not previously held a formal music teaching position. Experience delivering music-based or sensory activities would be beneficial; however, QTS or a formal teaching qualification is not required. Some pupils are non-verbal and have complex physical or medical needs, so patience, creativity, and a flexible approach are essential. Some personal care responsibilities may be required. Key Responsibilities -Deliver engaging and inclusive music sessions for pupils with PMLD -Use sensory music approaches, instruments, rhythm, sound exploration, and singing -Adapt activities for pupils with complex learning, physical, and communication needs -Support pupils aged 4–19 across primary and secondary settings -Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff -Encourage participation, communication, and enjoyment through music -Support pupils with additional SEND needs including ASD and complex learning difficulties -Assist with personal care where required Ideal Candidate -Experience working with PMLD or complex SEND pupils -Background as a Music Teacher, HLTA, or experienced SEND Teaching Assistant -Passion for music and inclusive education -Creative and confident delivering interactive or sensory activities -Patient, adaptable, and comfortable working with pupils with complex needs -Knowledge of PECS or alternative communication strategies would be desirable -QTS or formal teaching qualification not required About the School This is a well-established community special school in Ealing supporting pupils aged 4–19 with moderate to severe learning difficulties, including physical disabilities and complex medical needs. The school operates across multiple sites in Greenford and Northolt, supporting both primary and secondary pupils within a nurturing and specialist environment.
