Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teacher to join our inclusive school community in Wandsworth. You will deliver high-quality, personalised learning experiences for pupils with a range of SEND profiles, collaborating closely with senior staff, teaching assistants, and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, deliver and assess differentiated lessons that meet the National Curriculum and individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Implement behaviour-support strategies and promote positive, inclusive classroom environments.
• Conduct regular progress reviews and produce clear, evidence-based reports for parents and trustees.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate interventions, therapy provision and transition planning.
• Contribute to whole-school SEND policy development and staff CPD sessions.
Essential Criteria
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a recognised SEND qualification (e.g., PGCE, MA in SEND).
• Minimum 2?years experience teaching pupils with SEND in a mainstream or specialist setting.
• Strong knowledge of statutory frameworks (EHC, SEND Code of Practice).
• Excellent communication, organisational and collaborative skills.
Desirable
• Experience of leading a SEND provision or pastoral lead role.
• Training in autism, dyslexia or related specialisms.
