A friendly and inclusive primary school in the L28 area is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis, with immediate and October start dates available. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with relevant experience working with children who wants to develop their career in education. The Role Working alongside the class teacher and wider school team, you will support pupils both academically and personally, helping them feel confident, engaged and ready to learn. Your responsibilities will include: • Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities and lessons • Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required • Helping pupils stay engaged and develop their confidence and independence • Supporting children with their academic, social and emotional development • Preparing learning resources and assisting with classroom activities • Encouraging positive behaviour and participation • Helping create a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment • Working effectively with teachers and other school staff to support pupil progress What We're Looking For We're keen to hear from candidates who: • Have experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, youth work or similar setting – desirable but not essential • Are patient, caring and enthusiastic about working with primary-aged children • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills • Are reliable, proactive and able to use their own initiative • Can adapt to different pupils, classrooms and situations • Enjoy working as part of a supportive team • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or are willing to apply for one Relevant transferable experience will be considered, so this could suit candidates looking to take their first step into a school environment.
