SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary – Poplar, Tower Hamlets £100–£115 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Poplar Axcis Education is recruiting a confident and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a primary school in Poplar, Tower Hamlets, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. The role will involve a mixture of 1:1 support, small-group work and classroom assistance, helping pupils with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and emotional regulation difficulties access learning and become more independent. We are looking for someone who is patient, proactive and comfortable adapting their approach around individual children rather than using the same strategy for everyone. About the Role Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 Working with children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and additional learning difficulties Providing 1:1 and small-group support Helping pupils with phonics, literacy, numeracy and classroom activities Supporting focus, communication and emotional regulation Using visual resources and structured routines where appropriate Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider SEND team Encouraging pupils to develop confidence and independence About You We would particularly like to hear from candidates who: Have previous experience as a SEND TA, LSA or similar support professional Have experience supporting Autism, ADHD or speech and language needs Are confident working 1:1 and in small groups Can build relationships quickly while maintaining clear boundaries Are calm, reliable and able to use initiative Hold a CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification – desirable but not essential Can commit to a full-time, long-term role The School & Location The role is based in Poplar, with strong transport links via the DLR and nearby Underground connections, making it easily accessible from across Tower Hamlets and wider East London.
