Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Richmond, London Type: Full-time (Monday – Friday) Hours: 08:00?–?15:30 Salary: Paid to scale About the Role We are seeking a proactive, caring Teaching Assistant to support our senior teachers in a vibrant primary/secondary setting in Richmond. Working closely with classroom staff, you will help create an inclusive, stimulating learning environment that encourages every pupil to achieve their best. Key Responsibilities • Support the teacher with lesson preparation, delivery, and assessment. • Provide one-to-one and small-group assistance to pupils with diverse learning needs. • Supervise students during classroom activities, break times, and outings, ensuring safety and wellbeing. • Aid in the preparation of teaching resources, ICT equipment, and classroom displays. • Monitor and record pupil progress, communicating updates to teachers and parents as required. • Contribute to a positive, respectful classroom culture and uphold school policies. Essential Qualifications & Skills • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics (grade C/4 or above). • Relevant Experience working with children (teaching assistant, tutoring, youth work, etc.). • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to adapt quickly, work collaboratively, and maintain confidentiality. • Basic IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, interactive whiteboards). Desirable • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. • Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
