Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Position: Teaching Assistant Location: Kingston, London Hours: Full-time, Monday?–?Friday Salary: Paid to scale (commensurate with experience) About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary/secondary setting in Kingston. Working closely with the class teacher, you will help create a supportive learning environment that fosters student progress, confidence, and well-being. Key Responsibilities • Provide targeted one-to-one or small-group support to pupils, reinforcing lesson content and addressing individual needs. • Assist in the preparation and organization of teaching resources, displays, and classroom equipment. • Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and excursions, ensuring health and safety standards are met. • Monitor and record student attendance, behaviour, and achievement data, reporting trends to the teacher. • Contribute to the development and implementation of differentiated activities and interventions. • Support the teacher with administrative tasks such as marking, filing, and communicating with parents/guardians. Essential Qualifications & Experience • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths (grade?C/4 or above). • Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting (e.g., teaching assistant, tutor, volunteer). • Excellent communication skills and a positive, patient attitude. • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. • Safeguarding and first-aid certifications (or willingness to obtain). Desirable • Level?2 or Level?3 Teaching Assistant qualification. • Experience with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
