Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Romford

Axcis are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school near Romford station who are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.

About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils within the classroom, in small groups and occasionally on a 1:1 basis. The role will involve helping children stay engaged, access learning and develop confidence with their classwork, communication and social skills.
You will:
• Support pupils across the primary phase with classroom learning
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce key skills
• Assist the class teacher with activities, resources and daily routines
• Support pupils with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs or learning difficulties
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and confidence
• Help children during transitions, group work and practical learning activities
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to create a calm, inclusive classroom environment
What We’re Looking For
• Previous experience supporting children in a school, nursery, childcare or youth setting
• Experience with SEND would be beneficial but is not essential
• A patient, positive and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Confidence supporting pupils both academically and socially
• Reliability, enthusiasm and good classroom awareness
• Full-time availability and commitment to a long-term role
