Job Title: Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant
1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant – Reception, Merstham
We are looking for an experienced 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a child starting Reception from Monday, 7th September. The child will initially be on a reduced timetable, so the role will begin as half-days during the transition period.

About the Child
The child has Autism and Global Developmental Delay and is non-verbal. He also has a tendency to put objects in his mouth, so the successful candidate will need to be highly vigilant and proactive in maintaining his safety.
Experience Required
The school is ideally looking for someone with strong experience supporting autistic children, particularly with:
Intensive Interaction
Attention Bucket interventions
Supporting non-verbal children
Managing sensory and communication needs
Providing close 1:1 supervision and maintaining a safe environment
This would suit an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting children with complex communication and developmental needs and can provide calm, consistent and attentive 1:1 support.
