Job Title: Teaching Assistant
PMLD / Personal Care Teaching Assistant Secondary School – Harrow Full-Time | September Start A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Harrow is seeking a compassionate and dedicated PMLD / Personal Care Teaching Assistant to join their specialist support team from September on a full-time basis. This rewarding role involves supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs, helping them access learning, develop independence, and thrive within a safe and nurturing environment. The Role You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to provide tailored support for students across the school day. Duties will include: Supporting students with PMLD and additional complex needs Assisting with personal care, including toileting and feeding where required Helping students engage in lessons and sensory-based learning activities Encouraging communication, social interaction, and independence Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation in a positive manner Working collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals Ensuring students’ safety, dignity, and wellbeing at all times The Ideal Candidate The school is looking for someone who is: Patient, caring, and resilient Passionate about supporting children with special educational needs Comfortable providing personal care support Experienced working with SEN, PMLD, ASD, healthcare, or complex needs (preferred but not essential) A strong team player with excellent communication skills Able to build positive relationships with students and staff Candidates with a background as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Care Worker, Residential Support Worker, or Nursing Assistant are strongly encouraged to apply.
