Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant – SEND Provision
Location: Harrow
Pay: £90–£100 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
Start Date: Flexible
We are seeking a committed and adaptable Teaching Assistant to work within a SEND education service supporting pupils aged 5–16 across primary and secondary phases.
The service supports pupils who are unable to access mainstream education and operates across a range of provisions, including specialist SEND settings, pupil referral provision, hospital education, home tuition and outreach inclusion support. Pupils are referred from schools across the local authority and present with a range of SEND, SEMH needs, medical needs and barriers to learning.
The Role
• Support pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis across a variety of settings
• Work alongside teachers and professionals to support engagement, learning and inclusion
• Assist in delivering structured and personalised learning activities
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and wellbeing
• Contribute to a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment
• Adapt to different provisions, routines and pupil needs as required
The Ideal Candidate
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs
• A calm, resilient and flexible approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Confidence supporting both primary and secondary-aged pupils
• A genuine commitment to inclusion and supporting vulnerable learners
• Willingness to work across different provisions, including outreach and off-site support
