Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only (Fixed-term until July 2026, with potential for extension)
Daily Rate: £113 - £128 per day
Start Date: Immediate
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a delightful Year 6 boy with autism in a primary school. Located in Hammersmith, the school prides itself on fostering a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil with autism, helping him engage with the curriculum, build social skills, and manage sensory needs.
- Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs), including strategies for communication, emotional regulation, and independence.
- Support classroom activities, small group work, and playtime interactions to promote inclusion and positive peer relationships.
- Monitor progress and contribute to regular reviews with the SEN team.
- Foster a calm, structured environment while encouraging creativity and confidence.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children with autism or SEND in a school setting (essential).
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certification, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of autism-specific strategies (e.g., TEACCH, PECS, or sensory integration).
- Patience, empathy, and a positive, proactive attitude.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and therapists.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
