Teaching Assistant
Location: Salisbury
Pay: £90–£95 per day (PAYE)
Hours: 8:15am – 2:45pm (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri) / 8:15am – 4:00pm (Wed – training)
We are working with a welcoming, all-through trauma-informed specialist school that is seeking a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their primary phase team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs in a nurturing yet structured environment.
The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of social, emotional, and learning needs, helping them to engage positively in their education and develop key life skills. You’ll need to demonstrate strong behaviour management, the ability to maintain firm but fair boundaries, and a warm, patient approach that encourages trust and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide consistent, trauma-informed support to pupils within a primary classroom.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a safe, engaging learning environment.
• Support children in developing confidence, communication, and independence.
• Participate in weekly staff training focused on behaviour, SEND, and trauma-informed practice.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Experience working with or supporting young people with SEND (personal or professional).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach.
• A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.
