Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Manchester, Greater Manchester Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time Salary: Competitive We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team within the education sector in Manchester, Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will work closely with lead teachers to provide academic support and promote a positive learning environment for students. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in the preparation and delivery of daily lessons and activities as directed by the lead teacher. - Provide individualized support to students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), to help meet their learning objectives. - Monitor and report on students' progress, and provide feedback to help guide their development. - Supervise students during non-classroom times, including lunch breaks and between lessons, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. - Facilitate small group sessions to reinforce learning concepts and provide additional instruction where necessary. - Prepare classroom materials, bulletin board displays, equipment, and demonstrations to support teaching and learning. - Assist in maintaining classroom order, discipline, and an organized learning environment. - Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions as required. - Perform administrative duties such as taking attendance, grading assignments, and keeping records of student performance. - Foster positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and the wider school community. Qualifications and Skills: - A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent is essential. - Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or within an educational setting is highly desirable. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with students, colleagues, and parents effectively. - A caring and patient approach to working with children and young people. - A genuine passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their potential. - Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and to take direction from the lead teacher. - Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize duties. - An understanding of safeguarding practices and commitment to the protection and safety of all students. - Enhanced DBS check required.
