SEND Teacher – Autism – Special School – Tower Hamlets £180–£250 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Tower Hamlets Axcis Education is looking for a confident and experienced SEND Teacher to join a specialist setting in Tower Hamlets, supporting pupils with Autism, communication needs and sensory processing differences. This role would suit a teacher who enjoys working with small classes, high levels of support and highly differentiated learning. The successful candidate will be comfortable adapting lessons around pupils’ communication, engagement and regulation needs while maintaining clear learning goals and high expectations. Experience in a special school, ARP, SEN unit or autism provision would be highly desirable, although experienced mainstream teachers with strong SEND knowledge are also encouraged to apply. About the Role • Teaching pupils with Autism and additional communication needs • Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons • Working with pupils who may be verbal, minimally verbal or non-verbal • Using visual strategies, sensory approaches and structured routines • Working closely with a team of Teaching Assistants and specialist support staff • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and independence • Following and contributing to EHCP targets and individual learning plans • Adapting teaching to suit pupils working at a range of academic and developmental levels About You We would particularly like to hear from teachers who: • Hold QTS, QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification • Have experience working with Autism or other SEND needs • Are confident differentiating lessons for pupils working significantly below age-related expectations • Understand the importance of communication, sensory regulation and predictable routines • Can build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations • Are comfortable directing and working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants • Can commit to a full-time, long-term position Apply Today If you are a teacher who enjoys creative, individualised teaching and wants to make a genuine impact on pupils who may not thrive within a traditional classroom environment, this could be an excellent next step.
