Job Title: Teacher
SEND Teacher – Primary/Secondary – Barking & Dagenham
£180–£240 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Trial ASAP
Axcis are working with a well-established and forward-thinking school in Barking & Dagenham that is looking to appoint a confident and experienced SEND Teacher.
This is a school that has invested heavily into its SEND provision, with a strong leadership team, clear behaviour policies and a highly supportive classroom structure. Staff are well-supported, and there is a genuine team approach when it comes to meeting pupils’ needs.
About the Role
You will be teaching a class of pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, SEMH and associated learning difficulties. The role requires a teacher who can bring consistency, structure and adaptability into the classroom.
You will:
• Plan and deliver differentiated, accessible lessons
• Support pupils with a mix of behavioural and learning needs
• Use structured routines and behaviour strategies
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants to maintain a calm environment
• Track progress and adapt teaching accordingly
What We’re Looking For
• QTS is essential
• Experience working with SEND, particularly autism or SEMH
• Strong behaviour management and classroom presence
• Ability to remain calm, consistent and adaptable
• A genuine passion for inclusive education
