£170–£230/day (depending on experience) | KS2 | Special School | Barking Riverside | Full-Time | Long-Term
Axcis are working with a well-established special school in the Barking Riverside area who are seeking a dedicated and resilient Year 3 Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. The school supports pupils with complex learning needs, including autism and additional SEND, and provides a calm, structured environment where personalised learning and behaviour support are at the heart of everything they do.
This is a highly rewarding role for a teacher who is confident working in a specialist setting and who understands the importance of consistency, structure and relationship-based teaching.
In this role, you will be:
• Teaching a Year 3 class made up of pupils with a range of high needs, including autism and communication difficulties.
• Planning and delivering highly differentiated, practical lessons tailored to individual learning profiles.
• Supporting pupils with a mix of verbal and non-verbal communication needs, using visuals and structured strategies.
• Managing behaviour confidently and consistently, using positive behaviour approaches.
• Working closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist staff to deliver personalised support.
• Creating a safe, calm and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning, regulation and progress.
What we’re looking for:
• Previous experience working in a special school or with pupils with complex SEND.
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient teaching style.
• Experience teaching within KS2, ideally Year 3.
• Ability to support pupils with high needs and challenging behaviour, including a mix of verbal and non-verbal learners.
• QTS is highly desirable, though strong experience in specialist settings will be considered.
• Someone committed to long-term work who values teamwork and consistency.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive specialist setting where your expertise will make a genuine difference to pupils’ daily lives.
