We are working in partnership with a highly regarded, Outstanding-rated SEN Primary School in Brent, close to Kensal Rise and Brondesbury Park. The school is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide day-to-day cover, with the potential for the role to develop into a full-time, permanent position for the right candidate.
The school offers modern, purpose-built SEN facilities and a nurturing environment where staff work collaboratively to support pupils with a range of complex needs.
About the Role
-As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
-Provide 1:1 and small-group support to primary-aged pupils with Autism and complex needs, in line with their EHCPs
-Support tailored learning interventions alongside the class teacher and wider SEN team
-Use alternative communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS, or similar tools to promote understanding and engagement
-Deliver personal care respectfully and professionally, where required
-Support pupils’ social, emotional, and life skills development
-Contribute positively to the wider classroom environment and pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate Will:
-Have experience supporting children with Autism and/or complex SEN
-Be confident using alternative communication methods (Makaton, PECS, etc.)
-Be comfortable providing personal care when required
-Work well as part of a supportive team with strong communication skills
-Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
