Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Axcis education are seeking a full-time SEND teaching assistant, to work at a special school in Exeter. The successful candidate will be assisting the Teacher as well as supporting pupils with special educational needs throughout the school day. As a SEND teaching assistant you will be responsible for the social, emotional, educational and general wellbeing of the children. You must also have good initiative and thrive in a fast paced environment. ROLE: ? supporting the class teacher with resourcing the lesson ?Assisting children in class with their educational understanding. ?Assisting children in class with their social and emotional needs ?Working in sensory rooms, outdoor learning, messy play activities ?Managing behaviour and de-escalating challenging situations ?Safeguarding all children in your care ?Moving across the school to various lessons, as well as assisting break and lunch duties. ?Covering other SEND teaching assistants who may be off THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST BE: ? Someone who can build relationships with children ? Be resilient and understand clear boundaries ? Be active, positive with a can do attitude ? Willingness to support the team across the school ? Have experience in SEND BENEFITS ? Located in Exeter ? Bus routes, train routes and parking accessible ? Working Monday to Friday 8:30 - 3:30, NO WEEKEND WORK ? Temporary contract with the potential of a permanent contract ? Salary paying £90 per day, 6.5 hour days ?Online training available to build experience on CV ?
