Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
A highly supportive SEND school in Reading is seeking a dedicated and flexible Teaching Assistant to join their team from early December 2025. This is a full-time position working across the school with pupils of all ages who have a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities.
The successful candidate will be confident supporting students with a variety of complex needs, including SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), challenging behaviour and complex medical needs. You will play a vital role in providing high-quality care, learning support and emotional guidance to help pupils reach their full potential.
This role requires someone who is flexible, patient and able to adapt quickly—as you may be asked to move between classes and age groups at short notice. A key part of the role will also involve personal care, so a caring and professional attitude is essential.
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with SEND
Confidence supporting pupils with complex and varied needs
Willingness to assist with personal care and medical needs (training provided)
Flexible and adaptable approach to working across all age groups
Calm, compassionate and resilient nature
