About the Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, learning difficulties, communication needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You’ll work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to: Provide Tailored Support – Offer one-to-one or small group assistance to students, helping them engage with their learning and build confidence in and out of the classroom. Promote Independence – Encourage students to develop life skills, communication, and social interaction in a supportive environment. Adapt to Individual Needs – Support learners by adapting materials and approaches, ensuring every student is able to access and enjoy their education. Create a Safe and Positive Space – Build strong, trusting relationships with students to help them feel secure, respected, and understood. You don’t need formal experience in education, but you must have the right attitude and commitment.
