SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Wandsworth (SW18)
Salary: 83.40 – £90 a day depending of experience (PAYE)
Contract Type: Full-time – 8:45 AM to 4:00 PM
About the Role:
Are you passionate about supporting young people in their academic journey and personal development? Axcis is currently seeking multiple passionate SEND Teaching Assistant’s to support students with Autism in a specialist school setting in Wandsworth.
In this role, you will assist students on a 1:1 or group basis, supporting children and young adults aged 5-16 with Autism. One of the standout features of the school is its beautiful, sensory-friendly gardens, which have been thoughtfully designed to create a calming and engaging environment for the students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 or group support to students with SEND in various classroom and care settings.
• Assist with personal care tasks, including manual handling and peg feeding.
• Support students with challenging behaviour and ensure a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Work closely with teaching staff to ensure students' learning and care needs are met.
• Ensure the physical and emotional wellbeing of students throughout the day.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Ability to support students with SEND and understand their unique needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about supporting students' development and wellbeing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A flexible attitude towards working hours and schedules.
