SEN Teacher – Autism Specialist – Primary – Havering From £170/day | Special School | Havering | Immediate Start | Full-Time | Long-Term Axcis are delighted to be working with a warm and well-resourced special school in Havering, who are seeking an experienced SEND Teacher to lead a small primary class for pupils with autism and complex learning needs. The school boasts an excellent reputation for its nurturing ethos, highly trained therapists and collaborative approach. In this role, you will be: • Teaching a small class of primary-aged pupils with a range of autism profiles and communication needs. • Planning creative, highly differentiated lessons that incorporate visuals, sensory activities and structured routines. • Working closely with a skilled team of TAs, therapists and the SENCO to deliver personalised EHCP targets. • Using a blend of communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, attention-based strategies and sensory regulation techniques. • Creating an environment that celebrates progress, independence and pupil wellbeing. What we’re looking for: • QTS/QTLS with experience teaching children with SEND. • Knowledge of autism, sensory processing and communication-based strategies. • Calm, creative, reflective teaching practice. • A genuine passion for specialist education and child-centred support.
