SEND Teaching Assistant – Secondary School
Location: Barnes
Full-Time & Part-Time Positions Available
We are currently recruiting experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to join a secondary school in the Barnes area.
The school is looking for dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistants who have a strong understanding of supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with:
Challenging behaviour
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Complex needs
Additional learning and behavioural needs
Previous experience working within a secondary school or specialist SEND setting is highly desirable.
The Role
You will be supporting students both in the classroom and throughout the school day, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and manage their behaviour and individual needs.
Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
What We Are Looking For
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND
Experience supporting challenging behaviour
Understanding of ASD and complex needs
A patient, resilient and compassionate approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students
Previous secondary school experience is preferred
Requirements
Right to Work in the UK
Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one
Relevant experience working with children or young people
Up-to-date CV
