Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Kidderminster (DY11)
Contract: Full-time (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm)
Pay: From £89 per day
Start Date: December 2025
A supportive and welcoming school in Kidderminster (DY11) is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children with additional needs progress both academically and emotionally.
You will be supporting pupils with a variety of SEN, which may include communication needs, ASD, ADHD, or learning difficulties. The role may involve both 1:1 support and working with small groups, depending on the needs within the class.
This is a long-term position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with special educational needs
• Assist pupils with learning tasks, engagement, and social development
• Help implement and follow IEPs and support plans
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff
• Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
• Create a calm, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
• Previous experience supporting SEN pupils or vulnerable individuals is desirable
• Experience in a school or care/support setting is welcomed
• Must be able to commit to a full-time role
• A patient, proactive, and understanding approach
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with children
• A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
