Job Title: SEMH Support Worker
Axcis are working closely with a specialist provision located near Carterton on the border between Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire for children aged between 8 and 18 who have complex SEMH needs as well as those who have experienced significant trauma and ACE (Adverse childhood experiences - abuse, neglect etc). There are 16 students, currently all boys who are attending this specialist provision that supports them with an aim of reintegrating the students back into more mainstream or special school education. This provision are looking for someone to start asap who meets the following: *Has experience with SEMH or children affected by trauma *Is sporty / likes to be outdoors *Is able to manage challenging behaviour - due to the children's previous experiences, they can be very challenging with their behaviour and words so resilience and 'thick skin' is a must. *Is adaptable, quick thinking and good at de-escalating The hours for this role are Monday to Friday 8.30- 4.00 and the role is to start asap and in the first instance continue until the end of the academic year however they are keen to continue the support into the following academic year for the right candidate. The pay for the role is extremely competitive and you will be paid weekly, a week in arrears. Due to the rural location of the school, it is necessary for any candidate interested in this position to have their own car and in addition, you must either have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to get one.
