Job Title: Secondary School Care & Pastoral Officer
Axcis Education are working closely to support a secondary trauma informed provision for students with complex social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs in Torbay. The school are looking for a Care & Pastoral Officer on a full time, permanent basis, starting as soon as possible. The salary will be between £24,750-£30,256, depending on previous experience and qualifications. The hours are 8.30-16.00. Main Duties of the Job: • To promote a strong safeguarding culture and provide early, effective and sustained support to children and families in line with KCSIE 2025 and the Prevent Duty. • Liaise with families, forming strong, trusting relationships and conducting home visits. • Lead Early Help processes to prevent escalation of need • Act as the school's prevent lead. • Serve as deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead • Form strong relationships with pupils with SEMH and complex needs through trauma informed approaches. Additional Duties Include: • Work with Attendance Champion to address persistent and severe absence. • Record Keeping Data & Compliance • Support Policy Updates and safeguarding audits What the School are Looking For: •An experienced safeguarding lead or pastoral officer. •Someone who is well organised and can work in a fast paced environment •A leader who can demonstrate strong core values (resilience, perseverance, togetherness).
