Axcis Education are now working in partnership with a Resource Provision Near Pontefract that supports young people with Communication and Complex Needs, including ASD. All pupils have an EHCP and their needs are met in line with the local authority and in conjunction with WISENDS and we are recruiting for Special Needs Teaching Assistants to support these young people to access the curriculum and guide their progress toward learning to the best of their ability. The role is working mainly in small groups or on 1:1 basis with Secondary-Aged SEND pupils with a range of additional needs including Complex Communication, Autism and Developmental Delays. The positions we have available are for day to day support, but also for staff looking for long term placements supporting young people with additional needs. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has experience working with special needs children or vulnerable adults but what is most important is to have a patient, nurturing and empathetic approach to young learners.
