Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and looking for a rewarding role in a welcoming school community?
A friendly and nurturing primary school in the heart of Plymouth is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on both a 1:1 basis and through small group intervention sessions.
The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos, supportive leadership team, and commitment to ensuring every child reaches their full potential. You'll be joining a caring and collaborative staff team that values kindness, creativity, and building positive relationships with pupils.
The Role
Provide 1:1 support for pupils with a range of SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.
Deliver targeted small group interventions to help pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to implement personalised learning strategies.
Encourage confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.
About You
Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, SEND, care, youth work, or a similar setting.
A patient, resilient, and caring approach.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential—transferable skills and the right attitude are equally valued.
What We Offer
Competitive daily pay of £93–£98 per day.
A full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent.
Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.
Access to free CPD and training opportunities.
The chance to become part of a welcoming school where your contribution will make a lasting difference to children's lives.
If you're ready to inspire, support, and make a real impact within a fantastic primary school in Plymouth, we'd love to hear from you.
