SEND TA Jobs
DETAILS:
Job Title: Primary SEND Teaching Assistant
I am working with a lovely village mainstream primary school in Quedgeley, Gloucester, who are looking for a full-time TA to join their team from September for the full academic year. Ideally the right candidate needs to be someone experienced, knowledgeable ,resilient and committed.
The role itself is supporting a 5-year-old boy who is going to be in reception having been deferred a year and supporting him on a 1-1 basis as well as some general school TA support where needed if the boy is off or in another respite setting. The hours are Monday to Friday 08.30-15.30 term time only.
The child himself has severe Autism, is in pull ups, has limited verbal communication but can understand basics. He can display challenging physical behaviour as a result of being frustrated with not understanding what is being said etc. As a result of being in pull ups, experience with or being happy to change nappies is essential.
The boy enjoys music, bubble, water and sand play, big toy cars, spinning wheels and going to the park and so the 1-1 Teaching assistant will spend time with him with these activities as well as enjoying the facilities in school such as the large playing field, forest school provisions and a separate SEN base.
The well renowned school is easily accessible with both great access to public transport links ( a bus stop a minutes' walk away), as well as a large staff car park. The school has a very welcoming, family feel to it and is very sought after in the local and wider area.
Due to the child's needs, the right candidate must have the following:
*Experience with challenging behaviour
*Experience with Autism
*Have presence - a strong firm but fair approach
*Be reliable and consistent - the same support throughout the year is vital for the child.
*Be physically strong and able to get around a school site easily
*Be adaptable and compassionate
The school are keen to set up the support for the pupil before the summer holidays and so if you are interested and match the above criteria, please get in touch asap by emailing Suzie@axcis.co.uk or applying online.

If you are interested, then please click on the apply button and contact Suzie Sage on 0117 4722400 | Ext: 2006.

If you are not interested in this role but know someone else who might be, don't forget that we offer £50 in shopping vouchers if you refer a friend to us and we place them in the job. For more details, contact your local Axcis office.

This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer and as such we do not discriminate based on age, gender, disability, race or any other equal opportunities criteria.

The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
