Job Title: Life Skills SEND Tutor
Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND Tutor with experience in teaching life skills? Do you thrive on helping young people develop essential independence and employability skills?
We are seeking a Life Skills SEND Tutor to join a mainstream college in Sutton, supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to gain the confidence and practical skills needed for adult life.
The Role:
Plan and deliver engaging life skills sessions, including personal development, communication, independent living, and employability.
Support students with diverse needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
Work collaboratively with the SEND and pastoral teams to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Track student progress and provide personalised support to help them achieve their goals.
Requirements:
Experience working with SEND students in an educational setting.
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, Level 3 Award in Education & Training, or equivalent).
Knowledge of EHCPs and strategies to support learners with SEND.
Strong communication, patience, and adaptability.
