Learning Support Assistant Opportunity – September Start
A welcoming and supportive secondary school in Hillingdon is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated Hearing Impaired Base from September.
This is an excellent opportunity to support secondary-aged students with varying levels of hearing impairment, helping them to access learning and reach their full potential within an inclusive school environment.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Provide classroom and individual support to students with hearing impairments.
Work closely with teachers and the specialist Hearing Impaired team.
Encourage students' academic, social, and emotional development.
Adapt your communication style to meet individual learning needs.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Youth Worker, or in a similar role supporting young people.
Is patient, calm, approachable, and confident building positive relationships with students.
Has excellent verbal communication skills and a positive attitude.
Is enthusiastic about supporting pupils with a range of additional needs and abilities.
Previous knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL) is desirable but not essential, as training and support can be provided.
Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential).
