Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Bromley, South London
From Tuesday 1st September. 8:30am – 4pm (Term Time Only). Temp to Perm.
From £92.63 per day.
A lovely, well-resourced college in Bromley are looking for a caring and proactive learning support assistant to support their 16+ pupils. The students under your care will have a range of additional needs which include ASD, ADHD and physical disabilities.
This is a highly rewarding role requiring supporting pupils through a range of tasks including classroom support and day-to-day skills supervision. This role would be suited to someone from a care background who is able to be sensitive to the learners’ personal as well as academic needs, as it involves support across arts, cooking, and community-based learning sessions to help the students
Duties of the role include:
• Providing 1:1 and group classroom support
• Assisting with practical activities to further learning, such as drama, arts and cooking
• Encourage and foster confidence
• Providing personal care where needed
The successful candidate will have:
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND needs in a college or post-16 setting, especially those with ASD.
• Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to develop good relationships with the young people
• Strong communication skills
• Confidence and willingness to provide personal care
