Location: Morden, SM4
Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 9:00am – 3:00pm (Term Time)
We are recruiting Learning Support Assistants to join a specialist, non-residential FE provision supporting young adults aged 16–25 with moderate to severe learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.
This setting focuses on independence, employability, and tailored education pathways, giving students the skills they need to succeed in adult life.
About the Role
You will provide support to learners across 8 classes, each with 6–9 students, helping them engage in learning, develop independence, and access vocational and life skills programmes.
You will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide 1:1 or small group support, helping students build confidence, social skills, and employability skills.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 or small group support to learners with complex needs.
Assist with delivering tailored education programmes and practical activities.
Encourage independence and promote life skills.
Support classroom routines, behaviour management, and positive engagement.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet learners’ individual goals.
Help students prepare for work placements and community-based activities.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience supporting young adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs.
Calm, patient, and adaptable with excellent interpersonal skills.
Skilled in using positive behaviour support strategies.
Committed to promoting independence and building confidence in learners.
Enthusiastic, proactive, and able to work well in a team.
